Student Success Coordinators

The two Hinsdale South Student Success Centers (SSC1 & SSC2) have a unified mission to coordinate school, home, and community resources to reduce the impact of circumstances out of students' control and to help students build skills that can positively and restoratively impact their academic and personal success. Both SSCs purposely provide multiple holistic interventions and supports that empower students in all components of their lives in order to create positive postures toward school and the future.

In addition, the SSCs offer ongoing support, goal-setting, and follow-up monitoring which includes, but is not limited to: providing academic study time, implementing executive functioning strategies (organization, time-management, prioritization), and building social emotional skills [related to self awareness (positive self-identity), social awareness (perspective-taking), and relationship skills (conflict resolution)].

The specific areas of focus differ for SSC1 and SSC2, with SS1 concentrating on supporting students returning from medical and emotional health absences and SSC2 concentrating on chronic absenteeism and trauma-informed needs. Both SSCs support students with restorative in-school supervised studies (ISS).
