The organization is in the process of putting together two annual community service scholarships of $500 each to students who will be enrolled in a degree program and have participated in some form of verifiable community service with a non-profit organization. This will be offered to high school seniors and college students living in DuPage County. The application will be available in early April. The DuPage County Farm Bureau is awarding up to four high school seniors who will be starting college in the fall of 2015 with $1,000 scholarships. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must demonstrate that they are qualified to pursue a college education and interested in a course of study related to the agriculture industry. In addition, their parents must be members in good standing of the DuPage County Farm Bureau for at least two years as of January 1 of the application year. Applications are available in the Counseling Office. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2015.
This scholarship was created in memory of Arnold Oestmann of Westmont, IL, past president of the DuPage County Farm Bureau. Each year the Board of Trustees may award one scholarship to a high school senior whose parents have been members in good standing of the DuPage County Farm Bureau for two years as of the January 1st of the application year. There is no restriction on the course of study to pursue in college. Applications are available in the Counseling Office. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2015.
