Janice Marie Scott was killed during the terrorist attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.  The scholarship fund created in her honor gives 6 $2500 scholarships.  Scholarships are given based on the following criteria: financial need, academic acomplishment, community service, and writing skill.  See the guidance scholarship binder for more information.

Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors with a minimum grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. To be eligible, the student must be a U.S. citizen and resident of Illinois. The student must submit a 500-word essay on The Role of Township Government in Today’s Society and in the Future, that will include information obtained from an interview with a current township official. The student must plan to enroll at an Illinois school as a full-time undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
 
The Township Officials of Illinois will award seven $2,000 scholarships this spring.  The application/guidelines are available on the TOI web site, www.toi.org, and in the guidance scholarship binder.

The Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver may be used for any University of Illinois campus. Up to six waivers per Illinois county are awarded each year, one for each of the following conflicts: World War II, Korean Conflict, Vietnam Conflict, Southeast Asia Conflict, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The Stokes program is open to high school seniors planning on majoring in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering at a four year college. You must meet the following requirements to apply:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Eligible to be granted a security clearance

  • A minimum SAT/College Board score of 1600 (1100 Critical Reading and Math, 500 in Writing), or ACT of 25

Students are eligible to be considered for a GMS scholarship if they:
 
• Are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian and Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American;
• Are a citizen/legal permanent resident or nationals of the United States;
• Have attained a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (un-weighted);
• Will be enrolling for the first-time at a U.S. accredited* college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in the fall of 2010; or GED
• Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities;
• Meet the Federal Pell Grant* eligibility criteria; and
• Have all three forms (Nominee Personal Information Form completed by the student, Nominator Form completed by an educator familiar with the student’s academic record and a Recommender Form completed by a person familiar with the student’s leadership and community service) submitted by the deadline.

To be eligible to compete for the KFC Colonel's Scholars Scholarship, an individual must:
  • Graduate from high school this academic year
  • Earn a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.75 on a 5.0 scale
  • Plan to pursue a bachelor's degree at a public, in-state college or university (start date no later than 9/30/10)
  • Be a US citizen or permanent resident
  • Demonstrate financial need

HSF is the nation's largest financial aid provider for Latino students.  Scholarship eligibility requirements include:
  • Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent)
  • Be a U.S. citizen OR legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551
  • Be pursuing or plan to pursue your first undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Plan to enroll full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student in a degree seeking program at a U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam in the upcoming academic year.
