ACT/SAT Test Dates
PLAN:
Administered to all sophomores at Hinsdale South,
free of charge. The PLAN assesses academic
development in writing, math, reading and scientific
reasoning. Results include an estimated ACT score.
PSAT/MNSQT
(Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit
Scholarship Qualifying Test): Recommended for all
juniors and selected sophomores. Students register
(for a fee) at Hinsdale South to take the test on a
Saturday in October. Results include an estimated
SAT score.
ASVAB
(Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery):
Offered free of charge by the Armed Services to all
interested sophomore, junior an senior students. The
test graphs both vocational aptitude and career
interest and correlates scores to occupations in the
armed forces.
PSAE
(Prairie State Assessment Exam): Annual assessment
of all high school juniors in Illinois. The two day
testing includes an ACT that can be used for college
application purposes, but not for the NCAA
Clearinghouse. The test is administered during the
school day, there is no charge.

Educator site):
One of two college admissions tests, usually taken
in spring of the junior year and fall of the senior
year. Students register via mail or on the internet,
there is a fee.
SAT
(Scholastic Aptitude Test): One of two college
admissions tests, usually taken in spring of the
junior year and fall of the senior year. Students
register via mail or on the internet, there is a
fee.
AP
(Advanced Placement): Tests which allow seniors the
opportunity to receive college credit for advanced
high school work. Students register to take the
tests in the spring of the year they are taking an
AP class. There is a fee for each test.
CLEP
(College Level Examination Program): You may earn
college credit for knowledge gained through courses
or life experience.
